And…….we’re really excited about it.
In my work as a concept dog trainer, I see daily the wonderful results of this cutting-edge method. I am committed to teaching students interested in learning about the work I do here at Mannered Mutt. I’m always hoping to help turn the tide of dog training from old aversive training methods to new peaceful and highly effective methods. This is why I’m launching an internship program starting in June 2022 and ending August 2022.
My first intern comes to us from Salt Lake City, Utah. Beth Newhall is a sports and dog enthusiast. As a freshman at The University of Utah, she is just beginning her exploration of the many possible paths her university degree might start her on. Beth shows tremendous potential with dog training and the behavioral sciences in general. Beth has a great attitude, and a calm patient approach with animals which makes her perfect concept trainer material. In her spare time, she enjoys helping her mother with her horse and trains her beloved Oliver (pictured here).
Beth will be working with the dogs at my Board and Train facility for the Month of June, as well as assisting me in the field with private in-home sessions with clients. When she gets a minute (her days will be very full) she will also be studying curriculum from Absolute Dogs, the originators of game-based concept training by doing their “Sexier than a Squirrel” 30-day challenge.
I’m taking applications for additional unpaid interns for July- August 2022. Please feel free to reach out to me with interest. The Mannered Mutt strives to create and maintain a working environment that is inclusive, equitable and welcoming. High School diploma or GED is required. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination status is required for consideration. A minimum of 4 hours/ day is required. Themanneredmutt.com 661-904-3835
